There are currently a wide range of industrial processes in which the manufacture and handling of certain products (gases or dust) which, when mixed with air in suitable proportions , can lead to explosive phenomena, in many cases caused by an unexpected detonator. These detonators could be, for example, electric arcing, mechanical sparks , over speed of diesel engines, high temperatures etc.
For more than thirty years, Gali has specialised in the protection of forklift trucks and other industrial vehicles, so that they can operate in potentially explosive areas.
As from the year 2003, the EEC regulations with respect to labour associated risk put into force the obligations, responsibilities and protection methods for these areas known as “Directive ATEX 94/9 EEC”, which specifies the requirements for all equipments to be used in potentially Explosive Atmospheres, in other words, for installations containing any substance, gas or dust which could involve the risk of explosion when mixed with air.
Continuing with its specialisation, Gali has developed its offer in explosion-proof protection, assuring that industrial vehicles are able to operate in these hazardous areas with full guarantee of complying with Directive ATEX 94/9 EEC, making the necessary certificates for each case and protection.
