The last november, we send one of our great technicians to the Offshore and Maritime Training Centre of Taliarte (Las Palmas, Spain) of the Stier Group, for the realization of a security training.
Along 3 days, he received a training in fire fighting, first aid, sea survival, helicopter escape, health & safety and the STCW (Standards of Training Certificaction & Watchkeeping) suite of courses. Succeeding successfully and obtaining the corresponding certificate.
The course is delivered over 21 hours and consisits of theorectical and practical sessions, where the delegates learn about the offshore environment, oil production, varied types of installations and safe systems of work implemented in the offshore environment. the course also allows delegates to use in a simulated environment equipment used in the offshore environment and during helicopter travel to assist in prevention of major accidents and to increase the survival possibilities in the event of a helicopter ditching.
Delegates are assessed against a written assessment and observation by trained assessors and where they meet the required learning outcome are ticked on a tracking form, once they complete all 33 learning outcomes they are awarded a certification by the training centre Stier Group under the awarding body OPITO.
