Why ATEX Training (Explosive Atmospheres)

ATEX installations must be properly maintained throughout their service life. Ex-converted vehicles require this maintenance in order to comply with legislation, which includes periodic inspections.

GALI has Ism-ATEX-certified Electrical and Mechanical trainers accredited by the Notified Body INERIS to deliver homologated training for the different levels of intervention.

GALI provides this training by combining Electrical and Non-Electrical (Mechanical) ATEX Training, which most training centers teach separately, with the aim of enabling trainees to work safely on complex installations such as Ex materials-handling forklifts.

GALI offers training that includes the evaluation and certification of trainees who pass the competency tests. For Levels 1 and 2, certification is issued by the Notified Body INERIS, valid throughout Europe.

Ex-Converted Materials-Handling Forklifts are electrical installations that require proper maintenance, which must be preventive and include inspections to remain safe and compliant with legislation.
The courses are based on Standard UNE-EN IEC 60079-19, which governs the maintenance of ATEX electrical installations.

The Competency Certificate, in card format, meets the requirements established by Royal Decree 681/2003 of June 12, which implements ATEX Directive 1999/94 in Spain. In this way, a Notified Body ensures that the worker is properly qualified to perform their tasks.

In addition to the official Ism-ATEX course, the programs include specific maintenance instructions and training for Gali Ex-maintenance forklifts.

The different training levels are:

IsmATEX NIVEL 0 – Personal Interviniente

For workers operating in ATEX zones without performing maintenance on Ex equipment.
Example: Driver of ATEX Ex Materials-Handling Forklifts.

For workers responsible for maintaining ATEX installations and Ex equipment.

ISMATEX LEVEL 2EM – Supervisory Personnel (onsite/remote option)

Personnel responsible for supervising operators and making decisions regarding reconstruction or modifications to the installation.
Example: Managers of maintenance teams for materials-handling forklifts.
