The hydrocarbons which are potentially present in the atmosphere can become a real problem when attempting to make a controlled stop of an internal combustion engine.

These hydrocarbons may be sucked in by the engine air intake system producing acceleration and loss of speed control with the subsequent risk of explosion or deflagration.

The ordinary stopping methods (for example, shutting down of the fuel flow) may be quite useless, leaving the engine running without any possibility of stopping.

The GALI valve allows the automatic closing of the engine’s air intake, increasing safety in places such as offshore or onshore oil platforms, engine rooms, and petrochemical refineries.

On installations with Diesel engines in hazardous areas, we supply our range of air shut off valves for the engine protection in ATEX version.

Our ATEX valves ensure the immediate stop of the engine, designed under the requirements of the ATEX directive. They ensure electrical continuity between parts. We guarantee a reduced installation space, free maintenance and high reliability.

We can provide special cable glands and cable sizes under request. We also provide different types of flanges for all kind of engines to guarantee a correct and easy installation.
